CIMA welcomes new president. As a UK trade ambassador, Ighodaro has led successful overseas trade missions on behalf of the UK Department of Trade and Industry The Department of Trade and Industry was a United Kingdom government department which was disbanded with the announcement of the creation of the Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform on 28 June 2007[1]. and the Telecoms Industry Association. She is also a board member of the London Employment Coalition. She has been a member of CIMA council since 1995 and is the first woman and the first black person to lead the institute. "My career to date demonstrates the opportunities that membership of a chartered professional body brings. Ighodaro has sat on numerous CIMA committees, and is currently a member of the executive committee and the appointments committee. She was responsible for BT's sponsorship of the CIMA Business Management Competition, hosted the CIMA Europe Conference in Munich in 1998, acted as spokeswoman for Global Business Week in 2000 and 2001, and is leading the CIMA work experience initiative with secondary schools.
