CIMA LABS Announces First European Market Launches of Remeron SolTab(R).

CIMA LABS INC. (Nasdaq:CIMA) today announced that its pharmaceutical partner, Organon, has launched Remeron SolTab(R) (mirtazapine) orally disintegrating tablets in Germany, Finland and Denmark, the first European countries in which the fast-dissolve version of Remeron tablets have become available. The Company said market launches in the Netherlands and Sweden are anticipated later this year.

Remeron SolTab, an antidepressant, was developed for Organon by CIMA. This product incorporates CIMA's OraSolv(R) fast-dissolve drug delivery system with mirtazapine, Organon's active drug ingredient. CIMA is the exclusive manufacturer of Remeron SolTab, which was launched in the U.S. in early 2001.

Remeron SolTab previously received regulatory approval in the Netherlands, which triggered mutual recognition procedures involving other European countries.
