CII summit to promote trade between India-ASEAN held in Guwahati.Byline: ANI Guwahati, Nov 24(ANI): A business conference organized by Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) to explore and promote trade opportunities between India and ASEAN ASEAN: see Association of Southeast Asian Nations. During the conference both sides discussed different aspects like banking, agriculture and tourism to boost trade. "I think there are many ideas; there is a great potential for cooperation between Vietnam and Assam. I have many ides, which are very useful and feasible. That will further promote cooperation in this area," said Vu Quang Diem, Vietnamese Ambassador to India. The issue of improving the connectivity between Assam and South East nations dominated the talks. "After the announcement of look east policy, our businessman community is very happy and excited. They also want to do business and if something is good and cheap in Thailand or china, we can bring it here and sell and similarly if something is good here we can go and sell there," said D.K Sharma, General Secretary of North East Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NECCI NECCI Network of Educators of Children with Cochlear Implants ). Earlier this year, India had signed a Free Trade Agreement with the ASEAN countries.
