 CIGNA ISSUES ANNOUNCEMENT
PHILADELPHIA, Feb. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- CIGNA Corporation (NYSE: CI)

announced today that Lawrence P. English will replace G. Robert O'Brien, effective March 2, as president of the Employee Benefits Division.
O'Brien, who announced his intention to retire in 1993, will continue to be responsible for CIGNA's public position regarding national health policy.
In related moves, CIGNA announced that George R. Trumbull will replace English as president of the Individual Financial Services Division, and Arthur C. "Duke" Reeds will replace Trumbull as the head of the Investment Division.
"I believe these changes will strengthen our overall management team by providing several key executives with important new responsibilities," said Wilson H. Taylor, chairman and chief executive officer of CIGNA Corporation. "At the same time, we benefit by having Bob O'Brien's 32 years of experience and leadership available to focus on the critical issues surrounding the national debate on health policy."
English joined Connecticut General (a predecessor company to CIGNA) in 1963, and prior to his most recent assignment as president of the Individual Financial Services Division, he held a variety of assignments in the life and health operations, including regional vice president, vice president of reinsurance and vice president of field operations.
Trumbull joined Connecticut General in 1970 and has held a variety of assignments, including president of the Investment Division, the Pension Division and corporate executive vice president responsible for human resources and services.
Reeds, most recently managing director-investments for CIGNA, joined Connecticut General in 1968 and has held a broad range of investment assignments, including portfolio management, private placement and real estate investment.
The CIGNA companies provide insurance, health care, employee benefits, pension and investment management, and related financial services to businesses and individuals worldwide.
