Lemus (42-3) had an easy time in the first round, downing Villa Park's Doug Yadon 16-5. But he then ran into All-American Andy Kim of Poway and was manhandled 23-7. Facing elimination, Lemus defeated West Covina's Gilberto Gauzo by technical fall 22-6. ``Wrestling Kim was like wrestling a monster. He was just huge,'' Lemus said. ``He just got more and more aggressive, and he really came after me. I tried to stay with him, but it was just too hard.'' Lemus faces Arroyo Grande's Jose Velezquez today. Besides Lemus and Bryan, the region's 10 other City Section representatives went a combined 3-20.
