Technologies Will Launch Six New Assignments and Complete Supply Chain & Logistics Projects in 2007 CHICAGO Chicago, city, United States Chicago (shĭkä`gō, shĭkô`gō), city (1990 pop. 2,783,726), seat of Cook co., NE Ill., on Lake Michigan; inc. 1837. -- The Chemical Industry Data Exchange (CIDX CIDX Chemical Industry Data Exchange CIDX Combined Immunodeficiency, X-Linked CIDX Canadain International DX Club ), a global trade association and standards organization A standards organization, also sometimes referred to as a standards body, a standards development organization or SDO (depending on what is being referenced), is any entity whose primary activities are developing, coordinating, promulgating, revising, amending, founded in 1985 by the chemical industry, today invited individuals and companies to participate in the planned launch of six new project teams beginning this month and to participate in the completion of ongoing Phase 2 efforts in two areas. For more than 20 years, CIDX has served the global chemical industry and its trading partners by identifying common issues associated with eCommerce technologies and standards and establishing work teams from member volunteers to collaborate on universal solutions. CIDX volunteers create, maintain and implement industry standards that improve the ease, speed and security of e-business transactions within the sector. In 2007, CIDX plans to launch six new projects and accept additional participants on two existing teams. New projects include: 1. Credit Upon Proof of Sale (CUPS) Business Process Guidelines guidelines, n.pl a set of standards, criteria, or specifications to be used or followed in the performance of certain tasks. 2. Contract Manufacturing Business Process Guidelines 3. Plant-to-Business Business Process Guidelines Framing 4. Radio Frequency ID Phase 2 5. Core Components Phase 1 6. Web Services (1) Loosely, any online service delivered over the Web. Such usage appears in articles from non-technical sources, but not in IT-oriented publications, because definition #2 below describes the correct use of the term. Phase 1 The two continuing projects, launched in 2006, are Logistics Business Process Guidelines Phase 2 and the Supply Chain Collaboration Working together on a project. See collaborative software. Business Process Guidelines Phase 2. Last year, CIDX completed four of six projects and created these Phase 2 efforts as additional needs were identified. Both projects are accepting new volunteers. While CIDX standards and guidelines products are available free of charge to the chemical industry, work-team participation is strictly limited to CIDX members.
