CIDCO Inc. names Daniel Eilers president and chief executive officer; strengthening leadership for future growth.

) has named Daniel L. Eilers, 41, as president and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board. .

Eilers' strong background in high-tech strategic marketing and management will help CIDCO CIDCO City and Industrial Development Corporation (Mumbai, India)  achieve a position of dominance in smart phone devices.

Eilers brings more than 15 years of experience in the personal computer and software industries, including more than 10 years as one of the top executives at Apple Computer Inc. in the 1980s. At Apple, Eilers held such positions as senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing and Customer Solutions and vice president of Strategy & Corporate Development.

He started and led Apple's strategic investment and venture capital activities, which resulted in the creation and building of more than 30 high technology ventures. As president and CEO of Claris Corp., Eilers led the company for four years as it grew from $85 million to $170 million in revenue, while greatly improving the subsidiary's profitability.

Most recently, Eilers served as president and CEO of NAT (Network Address Translation) An IETF standard that allows an organization to present itself to the Internet with far fewer IP addresses than there are nodes on its internal network.  Systems International Inc., a privately-held enterprise software company. This position was an outgrowth of his role as CEO in Residence at Kleiner, Perkins, Caufield and Byers, a leading venture capital firm.
