CIC announces shipment of Handwriter for Windows Version 1.7 and national distribution partnerships.

REDWOOD SHORES, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 1, 1995-- Communication Intelligence Corporation (CIC) (OTC Bulletin Board: CICI) announced Version 1.7 of its Handwriter(R) for Windows(TM) desktop pen computing product.

This significantly improved product includes CIC's Handwriter Recognition System (HRS) and new electronic markup and signature capture capabilities for mainstream applications. Handwriter Version 1.7 also includes a new robust setup program with tablet auto detection for easy installation, and improved support for high-resolution video drivers.

CIC also announced today it has established a firm presence in the corporate reseller channels for personal computer products. As part of its strategic move to sell through PC corporate reseller channels, CIC has established distribution with national computer distributors including Ingram-Micro, MicroAge, and TriTech Graphics. Product training has commenced with resellers.

Handwriter for Windows is the most successful desktop pen computing product ever produced. Selling through telesales, and with over 10,000 units installed, the user satisfaction for CIC handwriting recognition has been over 99.3%. Since introduction, CIC's Handwriter for Windows has met user expectations and has received many favorable reviews from industry magazines and newspapers.

Handwriter 1.7 provides electronic mark up and thus groupware solutions with MS Word 6.0, Delrina WinFax Pro 4.0, Lotus cc:Mail 2.03 Remote and LAN version 2.1. Users can annotate anywhere on documents then send the information over the LAN. Users can even personalize documents with their own signature. Using WinFax Pro 4.0, users can write comments directly onto electronically received letters and immediately fax a response back or fill out a form.

This release also includes CIC's robust Handwriter(R) Recognition System Version 4.0.1 which supports natural handwriting in real-time.

The new DOS mouse emulation driver supports 256 colors for games in VGA and EGA video modes. This is increasingly important for the vast numbers of new home computer users who have DOS game programs.
