This first phase consisted of PeopleSoft General Ledger, Accounts Payable and Purchasing. The next phase will be the implementation of Asset Management and Billing. (CIBER's PeopleSoft Practice was known as "BIT," or Business Information Technology, Inc.; on June 30, 1999, it adopted its parent's name as part of CIBER's corporate branding strategy). The PeopleSoft Financial modules will be used by the Indiana Department of Administration ("IDOA IDOA Illinois Department of Agriculture ") to administer its internal financial management needs. IDOA's Procurement Division will use the PeopleSoft Purchasing module to process transactions for the 10,000 vendors that do business with the State annually. This is the first of nearly 70 Indiana state agencies that plan to upgrade their financial systems using PeopleSoft. CIBER's PeopleSoft Practice is also currently supporting the State Personnel Department in the implementation of PeopleSoft's Human Resources and Benefits Administration to be used for the state's approximately 36,000 employees. This included an infrastructure evaluation for LAN (Local Area Network) A communications network that serves users within a confined geographical area.
