CHYRON Introduces DUET MPx Graphics Enhancement Option.

Chyron Corporation (NYSE:CHY), the world leader in broadcast video graphic systems, today announced the introduction of the DUET MPx option for the Company's DUET(R) Standard Definition (SD) and High Definition (HD) video graphics systems. This new hardware option will enable additional software features to be introduced at NAB2000 in Las Vegas, April 10-13, 2000.

The DUET MPx hardware option provides significantly improved rendering by utilizing multiple video graphics engines. This new functionality allows additional graphic information to be created and displayed. Enhanced graphics capabilities include expanded screen content, dynamic effects, and 3D animations. The MPx option takes advantage of the DUET chassis expandability, and is available for both DUET SD and DUET HD systems.

Another major benefit of the MPx option is the ability to use CAL (Chyron Abstraction Layer) and Lyric simultaneously. CAL is Chyron's API for data driven broadcast applications. Also, dual copies of Lyric (the DUET character generator program) are now able to concurrently feed two discrete outputs.
