CHURCH TO HOST PROGRAM ON ADOPTION, FOSTER KIDS.

Child S.H.A.R.E. - Shelter Homes: A Rescue Effort - is a completely volunteer program that recruits foster and adoptive families from more than 250 congregations representing 20 denominations in Southern California Southern California, also colloquially known as SoCal, is the southern portion of the U.S. state of California. Centered on the cities of Los Angeles and San Diego, Southern California is home to nearly 24 million people and is the nation's second most populated region, .

 of Southern California and families with Child S.H.A.R.E. that have adopted their foster children will also be present.

``We have found that families of faith are likely to approach this tough issue from a standpoint of `How can I help', and be less apt to have the `What's in it for me?' attitude,'' said Don Simkovich, Faith Community's director of church relations.

``Our families, such as Bev and Jeff Lucia and Scott and Sandy Stallard, are among those who are experienced in not only providing care for children with special needs, but they also know how to navigate a complex bureaucracy,'' said Simkovich, who has adopted his four children through the foster care system.

Child S.H.A.R.E.'s support system is made up of parents using their experience to help new foster and adoptive families learn what they might face. For information, call (818) 957-4452.
