CHRYSLER TO REDEEM DEBT

 HIGHLAND PARK, Mich., Oct. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Chrysler Corporation (NYSE: C) today announced that it will redeem $769 million of its outstanding debt. The debt to be redeemed will consist of all of its 8 7/8 percent Sinking Fund Debentures Due 1995, 8 percent Sinking Fund Debentures Due 1998 and 12 percent Debentures Due 2015. The redemption date for all of the debentures is Nov. 15, 1993. Notice of redemption of the debentures is being mailed today to holders of record of each issue of the debentures.
 The redemption price for the 8 7/8 percent debentures will be $1,018.2431, consisting of the principal amount plus accrued interest to the redemption date, per $1,000.00 of principal amount of the debentures redeemed. The redemption price for the 8 percent debentures will be $1,003.1111, consisting of the principal amount plus accrued interest to the redemption date, per $1,000.00 of principal amount of the debentures redeemed. The redemption price for the 12 percent debentures will be $1,072.00, consisting of the principal amount plus redemption premium, per $1,000 of the principal amount of the debentures redeemed. Interest on the 12 percent debentures will be paid on Nov. 15, 1993, a regular interest payment date.
 The Redemption Agent for each issue of the debentures is First Chicago Trust Company of New York, Tenders & Exchanges, 8th Floor, Suite 4680, 14 Wall Street, New York, NY 10005.
 The 12 percent debentures will be redeemed from proceeds realized from the sale of Chrysler Corporation common stock in February 1993 that have been set aside since the date of sale. The redemptions will not alter the Company's plans to meet its pension funding objectives for 1993 and beyond with funds principally generated from operations.
