The CHP requires bus operators to inspect their vehicles every 90 days or 3,000 miles. Brown said the district will take no action until CHP officials complete their investigation and submit a report. ``If we get a report that indicates there was a problem, we would go and inspect all the buses,'' said Brown. School district officials said the 1970 bus that crashed was one of two that the district owned before it joined the Antelope Valley Transportation Authority in the 1970s. In 1990, when the school district resumed its own bus service, it bought 10 new buses plus two buses from the transportation authority, and took back its original two buses. The bus that crashed is often used for field trips because it is the largest, officials said. ``The majority of our buses are new,'' said Brown. ``I have to be confident that all of our buses are in good shape.''
