CHP Announces Governor Davis Supports Commercial Airline Industry.

 Commissioner D. O. "Spike" Helmick today issued his decision that Governor Davis may continue to fly commercial aircraft. In doing so, Commissioner Helmick reversed his earlier recommendation that the Governor should lease a private jet for safety reasons.

"After a thorough analysis, I have concluded that the Governor may continue to fly commercial airlines," said Helmick, the state's top law enforcement officer. "The airports are open and aircraft are flying again."

"I urge all Californians to resume their normal daily lives," said Governor Davis. "Let's let's

Governor Davis will continue taking commercial airlines for his travel, as he has done since being sworn into office in 1999.
