CHORALE FUND-RAISER UNVEILS GROUP'S CD.

The Santa Clarita Santa Clarita, city (1990 pop. 110,642), Los Angeles co., S Calif., suburb 30 mi (48 km) NW of downtown Los Angeles, on the Santa Clara River; inc. 1987. Situated in the Santa Clara valley and nearby canyons, Santa Clarita includes the former towns of Canyon Country,  Master Chorale's latest fund-raiser, Prelude to the Holidays, was highlighted by a preview of the group's upcoming concert and the announcement of the chorale's first professionally recorded CD, which will be available at the concert.

After the preview, chorale chorale (kōrăl`, –räl`), any of the traditional hymns of the German Protestant Church. The form was developed after the Reformation to replace the plainsong of the earlier service and as a means of congregational participation in  chairwoman Sherry Klahs announced the release of the CD, ``Choral Classics of the Silver Screen,'' which will be available at the ``Let It Snow!'' concerts taking place at 8 p.m. Dec. 6 and 7 and 3:30 p.m. Dec. 8 at the Valencia United Methodist Church United Methodist Church, in the United States, religious body formed by the union in 1968 of the Evangelical United Brethren Church and the Methodist Church (see Methodism). .

Lorrie Runyon and Murry Grossman won the Master Chorale-themed door prizes at the fund-raiser, and Clare Lintereur won the raffle for the ``Holiday Fanfare'' tree, a faux evergreen bedecked in musical instrument ornaments with a red-and-gold color scheme. The tree was created by chorale member Jill Hackett and is valued at more than $1,000.

The silent auction of more than 100 items included a soccer ball autographed by the entire L.A. Galaxy team and hand-thrown pottery by local ceramic artist and graphic designer Ellen Rundle.
