CARDIFF will take no action over allegations a Crystal Palace player made a racist comment to Michael Chopra Michael Chopra (born 23 December 1983 in Newcastle upon Tyne) is an English footballer playing professionally for the Premier League side Sunderland.

A striker, he has previously played for Newcastle United and Cardiff City and has spent loan spells at Watford, Nottingham
 - leaving Selhurst Park Selhurst Park is a football stadium located in the south London suburb of South Norwood in the London Borough of Croydon. It is owned by Simon Jordan, and is the current home ground of Crystal Palace Football Club, of which Jordan is chairman. Its present capacity is 26,309.  boss Neil Warnock fuming that the claims ever surfaced.

Bluebirds striker Jay Boothroyd said players from both sides had to be separated after the match because of abuse directed at Chopra, whose father is Indian.

Palace described the allegation as "outrageous" and welcomed any inquiry.

But the incident was not mentioned in referee Steve Tanner's report and Cardiff have stated they wished "to draw a line under this issue".

The FA have written to Cardiff and Chopra to ask whether they wish to provide further evidence.

But Warnock is angry the allegation was ever made following the 1-1 draw.

He said: "Cardiff have withdrawn everything and I am not surprised in the slightest.

"We are very pleased they have withdrawn the allegations but still disappointed and angry that they came out in the first place."
