CHOIRS TRAVEL ON HIGH NOTE CANYON, VALENCIA GROUPS EARN TROPHIES.

SANTA CLARITA Santa Clarita, city (1990 pop. 110,642), Los Angeles co., S Calif., suburb 30 mi (48 km) NW of downtown Los Angeles, on the Santa Clara River; inc. 1987. Situated in the Santa Clara valley and nearby canyons, Santa Clarita includes the former towns of Canyon Country,  - The award-winning Canyon and Valencia choirs recently brought home more trophies after taking their acts on the road.

Canyon competed April 2 in the New York New York, state, United States

It was established in 1976 from the merger of Richmond College (opened in 1965) and Staten Island Community College (opened 1956). Richmond College had been threatened with closure because of New York City's financial crisis, while the older school, because of its
, receiving first-place trophies for Concert Choir, Men's Chamber Ensemble, Women's Chamber Ensemble and Madrigals.

The Women's Ensemble was also rated silver, receiving 80 to 90 points in the competition, while Concert, Men's and Madrigals all were rated gold, receiving 90 to 100 points.

The students also participated in a Broadway theater workshop with one of the stars of the musical ``All Shook Up'' and saw performances of ``Wicked'' and ``Hairspray.'' During their tour, they also visited Ellis Island, Ground Zero, Radio City Music Hall Radio City Music Hall

Valencia choir students traveled to Hawaii, performing at the USS Missouri and competing in the Heritage Music Festival at the Hawaii Convention Center The Hawai'i Convention Center, located at 1801 Kalakaua Avenue in Honolulu, Hawai'i on the Hawaiian island of O'ahu in Waikiki, is the flagship civic exhibition center in the State of Hawai'i.  against groups from Canada, Missouri, Minnesota and Florida. Concert Choir and Vocal Jazz Ensembles I and II all received Superior Gold awards. Women's Choir placed third in its category and Mixed Chorus received silver honors.

Valencia's Concert Choir will be attending the Festival of Gold in New York next year after placing third against many choirs that competed. Vocal Jazz Ensemble I placed second overall, with Vocal Jazz Ensemble II placing first. The Vocal Jazz choirs also received the Adjudicators Trophy, given by one of the three adjudicators for reaching the highest score (an average score of 95 or higher).

The students also enjoyed an educational snorkeling trip to Hanauma Bay, the Polynesian Cultural Center The Polynesian Cultural Center (PCC) is a living museum located in Lā'ie, on the northern part of Oʻahu, Hawaiʻi.  and a tour of Hawaii.

Both groups will be participating in the All Valley Choral Festival on April 18 in the Hart High School Hart High School may refer to:
