 - More than 60 costumed actors from four local churches will perform Sunday in the annual Easter sunrise service Traditional View
Sunrise service is a worship service on Easter. It takes the place of the Roman Catholic tradition of the Easter Vigil, and is practiced by mainly Protestant churches.
 at Vasquez Rocks Vasquez Rocks Natural Area Park is a 905 acre (3 km²) northern Los Angeles County, California USA park acquired by LA County government in the 1970s. It is in the Agua Dulce vicinity between the Antelope Valley and the Santa Clarita Valley just north of Los Angeles and seen easily  County Park.

Worshippers are advised to arrive by 5 a.m. Sunday for the Vasquez Rocks service, which will be presented by Family Community Church of Agua Dulce, Christian Church of Agua Dulce, Living Springs Four-square Church and Acton Faith Bible Church.

 over the horizon,'' the Family Community Church pastor, Mike Sheridan, said.

There also will be two other Easter sunrise services in the Antelope Valley.

One will be at 6 a.m. at the Juniper Hills Bowl south of Pearblossom and the other at 6 a.m. at Red Rock Canyon There are more than 30 parks and canyons in the U.S. named Red Rock Canyon: Parks
  • Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area; Clark County, Nevada
  • Red Rock Canyon State Park (California); Kern County, California
 State Park north of Mojave.

This is the 98th consecutive year that Easter services have been held at Red Rock Canyon, which is located on Highway 14 about 20 miles north of Mojave.

The Red Rock service is sponsored by the Mojave Ministerial Association. Speaking will be the Rev. Kenneth Tweedt from the Mojave House of Prayer. For more information, call (661) 824-4221.

The Foothill Ministerial Association of Littlerock and Pearblossom will host the Juniper Hills service. The Juniper Hills Bowl, a natural amphitheater, is at 31401 106th St. East. Take Highway 138 to 106th Street East and follow the signs.

The one-hour service will include music by Pearblossom Foursquare Church and Pearblossom Community United Methodist Church United Methodist Church, in the United States, religious body formed by the union in 1968 of the Evangelical United Brethren Church and the Methodist Church (see Methodism). .

Organizers suggested that people dress warmly and bring pillows and blankets. Last year's event attracted 200 to 300 people. For more information call (661) 944-4324 or (661) 944-1880.

The Vasquez Rocks presentation will last approximately 45 minutes.

Parking is limited. Bringing blankets is also suggested for this service, where a limited number of chairs will be provided. Overflow parking will be allowed on the street. Last year, more than 1,000 people attended.

To reach Vasquez Rocks, take the Antelope Valley Freeway The Antelope Valley Freeway is a freeway in Los Angeles and Kern counties in southern California. It is signed as California State Highway 14 along its length. It connects Greater Los Angeles to the rapidly developing Antelope Valley.  to Agua Dulce Canyon Road and go north to the stop sign. Continue on Escondido Canyon Road about one-quarter mile to the park entrance on the right. Follow attendants for parking. Call (661) 269-2515 for information.
