U.S. (5-1-0) update: A victory over their archrivals will send the Americans to their fifth successive World Cup finals, but a draw - as long as Panama beats Costa Rica and Guatamala ties Trinidad and Tobago Trinidad and Tobago (trĭn`ĭdăd, təbā`gō), officially Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, republic (2005 est. pop. 1,088,000), 1,980 sq mi (5,129 sq km), West Indies. The capital is Port of Spain.  - could be enough to clinch a berth next year in Germany with three qualifying games remaining. If not, they can clinch Wednesday against Guatemala in Guatemala City. The U.S. is 6-2-1 against Mexico since 1999 - 5-0-1 at home. Landon Donovan and Brian McBride are expected to be partnered up front, and Eddie Johnson, returning from injury, will be available off the bench. Midfielder DaMarcus Beasley, also back from injury, provides danger on the flank. Other key performers: midfielder Claudio Reyna and goalkeeper Kasey Keller.

Mexico (5-0-1) update: Like their foes, the Tricolores need a win, or maybe a tie, to book their spot in Germany. Jared Borgetti needs one goal to become Mexico's sole all-time scoring leader. He scored and assisted goals in the 2-1 victory over the U.S. on March 27 in Mexico City. Rising star Francisco Fonseca also is expected to play up top, and Oswaldo Sanchez is solid in goal. Captain Pavel Pardo is out after receiving his second yellow card of the tournament.
