CHIPCOM ESTABLISHES NEW JAPANESE SUBSIDIARY.

, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--November 16, 1994--Chipcom Corporation (Nasdaq/CHPM) today announced the establishment of a new subsidiary in Japan, Chipcom Chipcom was an early pioneer in the Ethernet Hub industry. Their products allowed Local Networks to be aggregated in a single place instead of being distributed across the length of a single coaxial cable.  Japan K.K.

Since 1989, the company has had a representative office in Japan that provided sales and technical support to its Japanese Japanese (jăp'ənēz`), language of uncertain origin that is spoken by more than 125 million people, most of whom live in Japan. There are also many speakers of Japanese in the Ryukyu Islands, Korea, Taiwan, parts of the United States, and  resellers. With the opening of this new subsidiary in Tokyo, Chipcom will continue with these activities, as well as significantly broaden and strengthen its sales and marketing programs in the Japanese market.

In addition to Tokyo, fast-growing Chipcom has opened new international offices over the past nine months in Beijing, China; Milan, Italy; and Sao Paulo, Brazil. The company also has international offices in Australia, France, Germany, Israel, Malaysia and the United Kingdom.
