The restaurant, Royal Buffet's 10th and its first outside North Carolina, will opens its doors Friday at 43545 10th St. W., with a grand opening set for Jan. 22.

The restaurant serves Mandarin Mandarin (măn`dərĭn) [Port. mandar=to govern, or from Malay mantri=counselor of state], a high official of imperial China. For each of the nine grades there was a different colored button worn on the dress cap. , Cantonese and Szechwan food. More than 100 selections are offered, including soups, appetizers, entrees, salads, desserts and sushi, Goh said.

Goh managed the Monroe, N.C., branch for a year before moving to the Antelope Valley to manage the new restaurant.

The cost for lunch is $5.99 Monday through Friday and $6.99 Saturday and Sunday. Dinner runs $7.99 Monday through Thursday and $8.99 Friday through Sunday for adults. Children under 3 are free. The restaurant is open 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday; and 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Sunday.

The public is invited to attend the grand opening ceremony at 4 p.m. Jan. 22. In attendance will be representatives from the Sheriff's Department and local government and chamber of commerce officials.
