Showers are expected to spread into Ventura and Los Angeles counties this afternoon and evening, with rainfall amounts of less than one half inch, but up to one inch in the foothills and mountains.

Temperatures today are expected to be in the low to mid-60s, dropping to the upper 30s to mid-40s tonight. On Sunday, temperatures will be in the 50s to low 60s in the valleys, and upper 30s to low 40s at night.

Monday night will be the coldest for all areas, with lows in the 30s, and at or slightly below freezing for a couple of hours in the normally colder locations.

Most of the snow and rain is expected to move south and east on Sunday, but snow showers will linger across the north-facing mountain slopes and the Antelope Valley on Sunday. Forecasters are predicting amounts of between four and eight inches, but could be as much as 12 inches on north-facing mountain slopes and at higher elevations.

NWS officials also are predicting strong winds across much of Ventura and Los Angeles counties on Sunday night, with frost advisories in the valleys Monday night.
