The Antelope Valley Fairgrounds n. pl. 1. same as fairground. will open Saturday for children, teen-agers and their parents at the first Antelope Valley Youth Expo. Admission will be free for music, a fashion show, demonstrations and other attractions at the event, which will run 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the fairgrounds, 155 E. Ave. I. A youth committee advised the organizers - civic leaders including representatives of local schools and nonprofit organizations - on the program for those 5 to 17 and their parents. Among the performers will be vocalist Elizabeth Gonzalez with the Estrella mariachi musicians, the Cactus School jazz musicians and the Quail Valley School Steppers. Sheriff's vehicles and fire engines will be on display.
