The National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion, part of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, provides the Combined Health Information Database (CHID) with information on cancer prevention and control. The information stresses early detection effectiveness, especially with breast, cervical, and skin cancers. Topics included are professional and public education and training, legislation, research and evaluation, screening, tracking, follow-up and referral, and surveillance and monitoring. Journal articles, books and chapters, technical reports, legislation, unpublished documents, descriptions of cancer prevention programs, and many more writings are included on this site. The information is geared towards health professionals.
