 CHICK-FIL-A POSTS 24TH CONSECUTIVE YEAR OF RECORD SALES;
 1991 GROWTH NEARLY TRIPLE INDUSTRY AVERAGE
 ATLANTA, Jan. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Atlanta-based Chick-fil-A, Inc., the nation's third-largest quick-service chicken restaurant company, today announced total restaurant sales of $324.5 million for 1991 -- its 24th consecutive annual sales increase.
 The growth in sales represents a 7.31 percent increase over 1990 sales and outpaces the National Restaurant Association's estimated industry average increase of 2.6 percent for all quick-service (fast-food) restaurants in 1991-92.
 "We are very pleased to post another record sales increase for 1991, especially in light of cutbacks in consumer spending and generally flat industry growth," said James L.S. Collins, president of Chick-fil-A.
 Since its inception in 1967, Chick-fil-A has posted consecutive annual sales increases and has experienced only three years of less than double-digit growth.
 According to Collins, continued focus on quality and customer service by the chain's operators and their employees in the restaurants helped spur the sales increase.
 "Chick-fil-A has committed to be 'America's best quick-service restaurant at satisfying every customer,' and our operators and their employees are the primary means of meeting that goal," said Collins. "Last year's record sales demonstrate that we are aggressively pursuing that objective."
 Chick-fil-A is the nation's third-largest quick-service chicken restaurant company (after Kentucky Fried Chicken and Copeland Enterprises' Popeye's and Church's) and operates 460 restaurants in 31 states.
