CHICK HEARN BADLY INJURED.Byline: Daily News ENCINO - Chick Hearn, the legendary Lakers announcer, was in critical condition late Friday with head injuries after a fall in his Encino backyard, authorities said. Hearn suffered intracranial intracranial /in·tra·cra·ni·al/ (-kra´ne-al) within the cranium. in·tra·cra·ni·al (  n tr bleeding after the incident, which was reported about 7 p.m., said Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey. Hearn's wife, Margie, witnessed the fall and called paramedics, who whisked him to the trauma center trauma center n. at Northridge Hospital Medical Center where he was listed in critical condition. A medical facility that is designated to treat severe physical trauma as a result of the specialized training of its staff and the availability of appropriate diagnostic and treatment tools. Hearn was released from a hospital in March from a hip surgery and heart valve replacement surgery last December. Hospital staff will make a statement with updates at the hospital at 3 p.m. today. |
