CHICAGO STOCK EXCHANGE ANNOUNCES RECORD TRADE VOLUME

 CHICAGO, Dec. 30 /PRNewswire/ -- The Chicago Stock Exchange today announced it has broken its all-time record for annual trade volume, exceeding the previous record of 5,821,792 trades recorded in 1992. As of 2:00 p.m. Dec. 30, 1993, 5,825,314 trades have been executed at the CHX.
 On Dec. 20, the exchange eclipsed its single-year share volume record of 3,320,219,000 set in 1987.
 The Chicago Stock Exchange is the second-largest stock exchange in the U.S. in terms of the dollar value of shares traded. The CHX and its wholly owned subsidiaries provide trade and clearing, and data processing to the domestic and international securities and financial services industry.
