CHICAGO MERCANTILE EXCHANGE & CHICAGO BOARD OF TRADE LAUNCH GLOBEX

CHICAGO MERCANTILE EXCHANGE & CHICAGO BOARD OF TRADE LAUNCH GLOBEX
Globalization is changing the way the world conducts its business. To keep abreast of those changes, on June 25, the Chicago Board of Trade and the Chicago Mercantile Exchange will launch GLOBEX--the world's first after-hours trading system to electronically link international futures and options markets. GLOBEX allows for electronic trading of futures and options orders after the trading pits have closed. The system will enable traders and financial managers to participate in the market movement when it's happening. GLOBEX extends the exchanges' current trading days, so that trading will virtually occur around-the- clock and around-the-globe.
A video news release on GLOBEX will be fed on the following dates and times:
 SATELLITE COORDINATES:
 Wednesday, June 24, 1:30 - 2:00 p.m. (EDT)
 Galaxy 6, Transponder 23
 Audio 6.2 & 6.8
 REFEED:
 Thursday, June 25, 9 - 9:30 a.m. (EDT)
 Galaxy 6, Transponder 21
 Audio 6.2 & 6.8 Mhz
The release includes a news story that will be fed dual audio (6.2 Mhz and 6.8 Mhz) so that broadcasters can use the package with or without narration. 6.2 Mhz will have sound bites & ambience, and 6.8 Mhz will have the voice over narration. The story includes interviews with Leo Melamed, chairman of GLOBEX corporation; Jack Sander, chairman of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange; William O'Connor, chairman of the Chicago Board of Trade; Peter Job, managing director & chief executive of Reuters Holdings PLC; and Larry Mollner, executive vice president of Dean Witter Reynolds, Inc. The story also includes a brief explanation of how the system works.
Three additional sound bites will follow the story along with extra B-Roll of the GLOBEX screen and terminal, end users working on the GLOBES system, the GLOBEX Control Center, trading footage from both the CME and the CBOT, and Reuters Chicago Data office.
