The songs played throughout the night included Madonna's Like A Virgin, Diana Ross' Upside Down, Sister Sledge's We Are Family and an unexpectedly magnificent version of David Bowie's Let's Dance sung by Rodgers' drummer.

No wonder the Chic frontmanwants to educate us about his musical legacy. With such a repertoire this was a good old-fashioned retro [Latin, Back; backward; behind.] A prefix used to designate a prior condition or time.  party night but it was also a chance to celebrate a man who comes closer than most to deserving the term legend. Producing acts such as those named above, Duran Duran and the B-52s through the 80s would be enough to secure Rodgers' reputation but he also defined the disco era

with his own band Chic. Sadly he's the only original member of the band left but his late musical partner Bernard Edwards Bernard Edwards (October 31 1952 – April 18 1996) was born in Greenville, North Carolina, was a bass player and record producer, both as a member of Chic and on his own. He died of pneumonia while touring in Japan.  was seen right by a great replacement on bass and first class, white-suited backing band. Chic originals Everybody Dance, Chic Cheer, Le Freak and a storming finale of Good Times were performed with all the vibrancy of the originals and it was a particular pleasure to hear Rodgers' gorgeous, era-defining guitar lines in person.
