CHERNE MEDICAL ANNOUNCES SALE OF TWO CHERNE VARIANCE CARDIOGRAPHS TO EAST COAST CARDIOLOGY CENTER

CHERNE MEDICAL ANNOUNCES SALE OF TWO CHERNE VARIANCE CARDIOGRAPHS
 TO EAST COAST CARDIOLOGY CENTER
MINNEAPOLIS, Jan. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Cherne Medical, Inc. (NASDAQ: CHNE) announced today the sale of two Cherne Variance Cardiographs to Coronary Screening Centers of America, Inc. in Philadelphia and New York City. This is the first placement in the mid- Atlantic states region for Cherne Medical. This region of the country represents a major opportunity for the company due to its large population base.
David L. Printy, president, chairman and CEO of Cherne Medical added, "As we begin the new year, we are extremely pleased that following careful and thorough evaluation by Coronary Screening Centers of America's medical staff the Cherne instrument was chosen to be the cornerstone of its medical facilities."
Dr. Henry A. Solomon, medical director for Coronary Screening Centers of America and fellow of the American College of Cardiology said, "The number one killer of Americans today is heart disease. Because each year the first indication of 50 percent of those having coronary artery disease (CAD) is either a heart attack or sudden death, the medical community has been striving to find a more accurate, non- invasive test than the generally accepted procedure currently used. We are very pleased that we will have the opportunity to offer a cost- effective screening for CAD for the general population."
In addition, the company also announced the second closing of its previously announced private equity placement. With the second closing the company has raised $1.3 million of the previously disclosed $1.85 million offering. Concurrently with this closing, an equal number of shares of the company's common stock owned by Lloyd and Joan Cherne were cancelled to avoid any dilution to public shareholders resulting from the sale of shares in this closing.
Cherne Medical manufactures and markets the Cherne Variance Cardiograph, a resting, non-invasive, stress-free diagnostic instrument capable of identifying coronary artery disease even when no symptoms are present. The common stock of Cherne Medical, Inc. is traded on the national over-the-counter market under the NASDAQ symbol CHNE.
