The contract includes a global license for the Savi SmartChain software platform and the Savi Asset Management System. Savi SmartChain is seamlessly integrated with automatic identification technologies that capture data by wireless systems, which adds intelligence to supply chain information systems by providing real-time data on the location and condition of pallets, containers and their contents. The platform provides CHEP with tools to manage the deployment of its physical assets and ultimately provide critical information to CHEP's customers on location and status of their goods through web-enabled reporting.

The Savi Asset Management System is a full-featured, web-based, extensible solution providing asset owners, leasers, and poolers with the ability to manage all their assets in real time. Every activity throughout the asset's lifecycle is managed, audited and maintained with a rich complement of extensible features and analytical tools, such as Planning and Scheduling, Management and Control, Performance Measurements, Financial Lifecycle, Security Monitoring, and Maintenance and Repair.

CHEP plans to extend the software and system throughout its international operations Internal Operations (I.O., IO or I/O) is a fictional American Intelligence Agency in Wildstorm comics. "We contracted with Savi Technology following an evaluation of 16 different software solutions," said Edwin Birnbaum, vice-president, CHEP. "Savi's extensive experience with real-time tracking technologies and the broad scalability of its solutions were key factors in our decision. This is part of a value-adding investment program that CHEP is committed to that will not only deliver improvements in the performance of our equipment pool, but which could also enable our customers to improve real-time product tracking and stock management through links with our equipment tracking solution."

Deployment of the SmartChain platform, Asset Management, and real-time tracking technology reinforces CHEP 's position as a leading supplier of pooling services for global shipping warehousing and logistics. Through this technology, CHEP can now offer in its product portfolio an enhanced level of shipment visibility, including database links that support item level tracking of products transported and stored on pallets or in containers.

"We are extremely pleased to be selected by CHEP to help the company implement its vision of a global asset visibility infrastructure," said Vic Verma, president and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization.
