Now researchers at UCLA UCLA University of California at Los Angeles UCLA University Center for Learning Assistance (Illinois State University) UCLA University of Carrollton, TX and Lower Addison, TX want to know why. Researchers are seeking adults to participate in a study that will examine the anti-oxidant properties of green tea. The study, funded by the National Institutes of Health, will look at whether one ingredient or more found in green tea exhibits anti-oxidant properties. The study may help to determine whether one compound, epigallocatechin 3-gallate, is the only anti-oxidant in green tea. To qualify for the eight-week study, adults should be between 20 and 50 years old and in good health. The study requires an initial screening visit that includes a standard physical exam, blood samples and an EKG EKG: see electrocardiography. .
