CHECKUP: LOWER BLOOD PRESSURE IMPROVES BRAIN FUNCTION.

 study, though, suggests the benefits of bringing blood pressure down to recommended levels go beyond preventing heart disease and stroke.

A team of physicians and scientists led by Dr. Edwin J. The study involved 66 patients with hypertension and cognitive function 20 to 40 percent below normal. After 24 weeks on blood pressure medications, the patients' memory, concentration and information processing improved by an average of 15 to 40 percent, the study results noted.
