You might know David Rosengarten from his television show on the Food Network or his New York New York, state, United States

Rather than a tightly organized appetizers/soups/main dishes book, it is a meandering journey through Rosengarten's life and mind. Imagine a day spent strolling through a great street market, picking this and that for dinner. He doesn't attempt to cover everything. Instead, he focuses on the best, from caviar caviar or caviare (kăv`ēär), the roe (eggs) of various species of sturgeon prepared as a piquant table delicacy.  to risotto ri·sot·to

 and even ribs.

He gives lots of fine information, including tips on how things should look and taste when they're done. But a single joyous essay, ``The First Time I Saw Paris,'' is worth the whole price of the book.

Stacked or layered foods are chic and in vogue in restaurants these days. But you can create your own versions at home with a little help from Foster Farms chicken breasts and their recipe leaflet, ``Stack Up Beautiful Meals With Foster Farms Savory savory, name for any plant of the genus Satureja, aromatic herbs and subshrubs of the family Labiatae (mint family). Although some of the recipes sound a little complex, you might be inspired to come up with your own simpler creations. You can get started by using empty 3-inch-diameter soup cans with ends removed or order two free cylinders with three Savory Servings proofs of purchase (see marked packages or order form in recipe leaflet). TV dinner is 45 years old

Forty-five years ago, C.A. Swanson & Sons executive Gerald Thomas, in an effort to get rid of railroad cars filled with a surplus of unsold Thanksgiving turkeys, came up with the concept of the TV dinner, and it was a hit with consumers. The original production order for 5,000 dinners (featuring turkey, corn bread corn bread or corn·bread

dressing and gravy, buttered peas and sweet potatoes) was considered a great risk, but the company sold 10 million dinners for 98 cents each by the end of that first year (1954). In 1998, Americans consumed more than 160 million Swanson dinners. The three most popular varieties today are Turkey, Fried Chicken Fried chicken is chicken which is dipped in a breading mixture and then deep fried, pan fried or pressure fried. The breading seals in the juices but also absorbs the fat of the fryer, which is sometimes seen as unhealthy.  and Salisbury Steak. Look for the limited-edition anniversary packaging modeled after the original design in stores now.

Easy biscotti Biscotti (plural of Italian biscotto, roughly meaning "twice baked") are crisp Italian cookies often containing nuts or flavored with anise. Traditionally, biscotti are made by baking cookie dough in two long slabs, cutting these into slices, and reheating them to dry
