Of or relating to the Celtic people and languages. 1 ARSENAL WIN 5-1 ON AGG FURIOUS Celtic midfielder Massimo Donati last night insisted Eduardo should be banned for diving. The Arsenal striker was caught up in a cheat storm after doing down under Celtic keeper Artur Boruc's challenge to win a first-half penalty which he converted. It set up a convincing victory for the Gunners which puts them into today's Champions League group draw - but it left Celtic incensed. Donati, who hit an injury-time consolation, said: "If it's clear on TV then UEFA UEFA Union of European Football Associations UEFA n abbr (= Union of European Football Associations) → U.E.F.A. must act and ban him. He should get a twomatch ban. I told him and everyone on the Celtic team told him." The row overshadowed Arsenal's victory but amazingly boss Arsene Wenger claimed Eduardo did not dive. He suggested Eduardo went down to avoid Boruc's challenge as he is still haunted by his horrific broken leg 18 months ago. Wenger said: "I do not want a penalty which is not a penalty, but I do not go as far as to say Eduardo dived. "He went down, for what reason I do not know. Eduardo, with what happened to him, he is a bit cautious. He might have jumped out of the way." CAPTION(S): GOING DOWN Eduardo crashes to the ground as Celtic goalkeeper Artur Boruc looks on |
