Notre Dame Notre Dame IPA: [nɔtʁ dam] is French for Our Lady, referring to the Virgin Mary. In the United States of America, Notre Dame  High's Travis Johnson Travis Johnson (born April 26, 1982 in Sherman Oaks, California) is an American football defensive tackle for the Houston Texans of the NFL. He attended Sherman Oaks Notre Dame High School in Sherman Oaks, California.  leaves this summer for Florida State on a football scholarship. But sophomore sister Tracy is hoping to keep the family legacy alive locally. She's the state's fifth leading high jumper with a best of 5 feet, 6 inches.

``Travis has always been in the spotlight and I'm going to miss him a lot because I love him,'' she said, ``But I want to do something, too. He has football and I have track.''

Actually, the elder Johnson has track, too: He's the region's top Southern Section shotputter.

Tracy says Travis can't resist working his way over to the girls' side during school practice to offer some pointers.

``He likes to give me advice on how to jump higher, but he really doesn't know what he's talking about,'' she said with a smile. ``But he does fire me up and give me a lot of inspiration.'' . . .
