CHATTER: QUARTZ HILL HELPS CURB TURMOIL BY KEEPING SOCCER COACH.Byline: Ross Siler Staff Writer Quartz Hill High has retained boys' soccer coach Tony Bruce, bringing much-sought stability to a Rebels program that won a share of the Southern Section Div. I championship only a year ago. Bruce took over at Quartz Hill in January when Andre Matalon resigned after a player revolt during a tournament in Florida. The Rebels, who started the season ranked No. 3 in the nation, finished with a 13-7-5 record and lost in the second round of the playoffs. ``Coming on in the middle of the season, I had no chance to really experiment with anything,'' Bruce said. ``Now I have the chance to put together a program the way I want to do it.''
