Konrad said he was dismissed Wednesday afternoon following a ``scheduling mix-up'' with Highland High on a make-up game that was scheduled to be played Wednesday night in the small gymnasium at Littlerock, but had to be canceled because of the miscommunication. ``It came as a complete shock to myself and everybody who knows me,'' Konrad said in a telephone interview. ``The whole thing was just a big miscommunication.'' Senior guard LaShanna Bridgeforth said she and her teammates were equally shocked by the situation. ``We're all pretty upset because Konrad has done a lot for us,'' she said. ``I really think he had our best interests at heart.'' ... Grant High of Van Nuys' boys' basketball coach Howie Levine knew exactly where he wanted to celebrate Wednesday's victory over Verdugo Hills, his 300th victory at the school: at the Tarzana Rehabilitation Center with his father Norman, who suffered a major stroke two years ago. ``If there's anything (sad) about reaching 300, it's the fact my dad hasn't been around to share the most recent wins,'' Levine said. ``After the game I went right over there and told him we got No. 300. He just nodded and said, 'That's good.' '' Levine isn't in the mood to get nostalgic over reaching 300 wins at Grant. ``I'm worried about (North Hollywood) tonight, not winning No. 300 two days ago,'' Levine said. But after 19 years at the school, even Levine couldn't resist taking a trip down memory lane, even if it was just a short one. ``Look, every win is sweet,'' Levine said. ``That is, until I put the tape in and watch it. Then I go 'Oh jeez jeez interj. Used to express surprise or annoyance. [Alteration of Jesus1.] , we've got a lot of work to do.' '' Next season will be Levine's 20th at Grant and he plans to stick around a little longer. ``I'm not ready to hang them up, no way,'' Levine said. ...
