A new tournament will bring together some of the area's best teams as high school baseball season begins this week.

The inaugural Easton So Cal Showdown starts Friday and features top teams such as Chatsworth, El Camino Real El Camino Real (Spanish for The Royal Road or The King's Highway) was the name of a series of pre-automobile highways linking the various New World colonies of Spain:

Reynolds, who pinned all three of his opponents in winning the 160-pound weight class, was named wrestler of the meet and secured his fourth berth into the state meet.

While Niki Connolly, Nikki Walberg and junior sister Katie Oakes have accounted for the bulk of El Camino Real of Woodland Hills' 26 goals during the first three rounds of the City Section playoffs, sophomore midfielder Michelle Oakes has been a valuable asset with her playmaking skills and defense. She was a big factor in the Conquistadores' 4-1 victory over Taft.
