CHATTER: MR. ROBINSON'S NEW NEIGHBORHOOD COULD BE SYLMAR.

Byline: Lee Barnathan Staff Writer

The saga of Frank Robinson

This article is about the baseball player and manager. For the Nottingham busker, see Frank Robinson (Xylophone Man).

Frank Robinson (born August 31, 1935 in Beaumont, Texas), is a Hall of Fame former Major League Baseball player.
took its latest turn Wednesday when the basketball player said he would leave Littlerock High in the next two weeks.

     and one isn't.

Robinson, a 6-foot-5 senior, had left Chatsworth High after his involvement in an altercation with another player. He returned to Littlerock, his home school where he played his first two seasons.

But he never suited up for the Lobos because he violated Southern Section rule 220, which states a player who transfers may return to his home school and be eligible provided he didn't play sports at his former school. Since Robinson played JV basketball at Chatsworth, he couldn't play at Littlerock.

Dale sees this for what it is: a talented player trying to use open enrollment.

``I can't blame the kid for trying to find a place to play,'' Dale said. ``When he wasn't eligible, he said, 'I might have to do what I have to do.' I said, 'Go.' ... We have a system that didn't prevent this from happening. This is ridiculous.'' ...
