Bob and Mike Bryan Twin brothers Robert Charles Bryan (Bob) and Michael Carl Bryan (Mike) are American professional tennis players. Since the playing facility is indoor clay, McEnroe wanted to give Blake, Roddick and the Bryan brothers five full days of practice with Querrey and Clayton to get adjusted to the surface and the environment of the 3,500-seat Sportplaza Leuven.

A victory by the U.S. would secure a berth in the 16-nation Davis Cup in 2006.

Querrey, 17, is a former U.S. Junior Davis Cup player, leading Southern California to a victory over Texas in the 2004 final.

Querrey competed in three junior Grand Slams this year, reaching the round of 16 at Wimbledon and the U.S. Open and advancing to the quarterfinals of the French Open. He also played in the championship match of the U.S. Tennis Association 18-and-under national championships in Kalamazoo, Mich., in August, losing to Donald Young.

Young and Clayton won the doubles title at the U.S. Junior Open.

But he isn't the only one.

Levine, who coached Arenas at Grant in the late 1990's, also moonlights as an usher at Dodger Stadium. You can find him at every Dodgers home game working the staircase doorway that escorts reporters to the Dodgers' clubhouse.

Levine can only hope Grant has a better season than the Dodgers this year.

``We should be pretty good,'' Levine said. ``How good? Too early to tell. ''

-- A group of former Foothill League football players are playing a key role for Glendale College's team this year.

Former Canyon standout Terrence Hopkins and Saugus gradJohnny Borelli are splitting time at tight end, and Canyon's Ricky Galvin has won a spot as a starting linebacker. Another Canyon grad, receiver Tim Naillieux, started as a freshman last season but is sitting out this year because of a knee injury.

Former Canyon running backJustin Williams also has expressed interest and could join next year after sitting out this season for personal reasons,according to Glendale coach John Cicuto.

``We've got a few of these kids from Santa Clarita, and we're happy to have them,'' Cicuto said.

--Michael Bunch is the new baseball coach at Golden Valley High, replacing Randy Thompson.

Bunch, 27, who has moved to Santa Clarita from Lake Arrowhead and has never been a head coach at the high school level, acknowledged problems before his arrival but said it's exciting to build a program.
