CHATTER: LOCAL PLAYERS FINALISTS FOR ASA COLLEGE HONOR.

The Amateur Softball Association has announced a list of 25 collegiate players as finalists for the first USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year award Several sports leagues honor their best player with an award called Player of the Year. In the United States, this type of award is usually called a Most Valuable Player award. The awards with the "player of the year" phrasing include these. .  is well represented, with pitchers Amanda Freedand Keira Goerl, catcher Stacey Nuveman Stacey Annette ("Nuvey") Nuveman (born 26 April 1978 in California) is a softball player at the catcher position. She is a two-time Olympic gold medalist and holds the NCAA Division I softball career record for most home runs with 91.  and infielder Natasha Watley Natasha Watley (born November 27, 1981) is an American professional softball player currently with the USA Softball Women’s National Team.[1] She plays the position of shortstop and first base, and helped her team to win the gold medal for softball at the 2004  nominated.

Also listed is Oklahoma freshman catcher Christine Enea, who played at El Camino Real El Camino Real (Spanish for The Royal Road or The King's Highway) was the name of a series of pre-automobile highways linking the various New World colonies of Spain:

The Balboa Park girls' 11- and 12-year-old team won the Los Angeles Parks and Recreation city basketball championship, beating Pan Pacific Park 62-20 at Westwood Recreation Center. Cela Sutton led Balboa with 23 points.
