CHATTER: LOCAL PAIR HAS GAME(S).

Two familiar basketball players from the region now playing at UC Santa Barbara Santa Barbara (săn'tə bär`brə, –bərə), city (1990 pop. 85,571), seat of Santa Barbara co., S Calif., on the Pacific Ocean; inc. 1850.  will be in action this week against local schools.

The Gauchos, whose top two scorers are former Simi Valley Simi Valley (sē`mē, sĭm`ē), city (1990 pop. 100,217), Ventura co., SW Calif. in an oil, fruit, and farm region; laid out 1887, inc. 1969.  High standout Branduinn Fullove and former Hoover of Glendale star Mark Hull, visit Loyola Marymount tonight and play host to Pepperdine on Saturday.

Fullove, who stepped into the lineup last year as a freshman, is averaging 16.8 points. Hull is right behind at 16.2.

Alemany of Mission Hills has named Bill Bedgood and Alan Woskanian as interim boys' basketball coaches, replacing Chris Dunbar, who left the Indians this week to take over at Chatsworth.

Bedgood and Woskanian were assistants under Dunbar.

Neill is given high marks for his quick release, timing, footwork and speed. His arm is NFL quality and he has shown intelligence and the discipline to put in film-study time.

There are concerns about the 6-foot-3, 215-pounder's slender build, his lack of consistency as a passer and a drop-off in poise when he gets hit a lot through the course of the game.

However, he's expected to get drafted and has a chance to make a team.

Brady's strengths are his athletic ability and speed. He's a threat to run and has playmaking ability. At 5-11, he is undersized undersized
