CHATTER: HIGHLAND PLEASANTLY SURPRISED.Byline: Vincent Bonsignore Staff Writer Not that the Highland High of Palmdale boys' basketball team is arguing, but even the Bulldogs were left scratching their heads after getting the third seed in the Southern Section Div. I-AA playoffs. The Bulldogs (23-3) believe they are worthy of the high seed, but they were surprised they got it considering they lost their last regular-season game to Lancaster on Friday. The Bulldogs, who began the week ranked third in Div. I-AA, and Lancaster tied for the league title. Highland coach Jeff Smith thought the loss would push his team to a fifth or sixth seed.
