CHATTER: HANCE MAKING A RUN FOR IT AT PURDUE.Byline: Vincent Bonsignore Staff Writer Two years ago, Taft High of Woodland Hills quarterback Brandon Hance was asked why he decided to play college football at Purdue. ``Because they throw the ball 60 times a game,'' Hance said. Good answer, Brandon. Little did Hance know his first year as the Boilermakers starter would include almost as much running as throwing - as in running away from danger, that is. ``He's running for his life,'' Purdue tight end Tim Stratton said. ``He needs some more help.'' Over the last two weeks, Hance has led the Boilermakers in rushing, which doesn't exactly bode well for the Purdue offense. He rushed for 53 yards against Iowa and 22 against Michigan. His 37 carries were more than running backs Sedrick Brown and Joey Harris (29 carries for 57 yards) combined. On the year, Hance is the Boilermakers' second-leading rusher with 163 yards. ...
