CHATTER: CSUN'S ANDERSON QUALIFIES FOR TRIALS.

Cal State Northridge volunteer assistant track coach Avery Anderson qualified for the U.S. Olympic Trials in the decathlon decathlon (dĭkăth`lŏn), in modern Olympic games, a contest for men held over two days and composed of 10 track-and-field events.  when he won the Northridge Multi-Olympics Trials Qualifier with 7,952 points. The trials standard is 7,900 points.

UCLA University of Carrollton, TX and Lower Addison, TX
 and a former Indianapolis Colts receiver, joins CSUN CSUN California State University Northridge  assistant Dominique Arnold in the 110-meter hurdles as Northridge qualifiers. The trials are July 14-23 at Sacramento. . . .

Former Occidental College track and field star Dixon Farmer is returning to the school as its athletic director. Farmer, a 1963 graduate, won the 1961 NCAA NCAA
abbr.
National Collegiate Athletic Association
 440-yard hurdles championship and was later enshrined in the school's Hall of Fame.

He previously coached at Gustavus Adolphus, San Diego State, Michigan and Washington. For the past two years he has been track and field coordinator for the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista. . . .
