Matchup of the week:

BEN STEENSLAND

Westlake

JONATHAN GREENBERG

Harvard-Westlake

Boys' tennis

Greenberg, a junior, and Steensland, a sophomore, have been critical to their teams' success this season.

Steensland plays No. 1 singles for Westlake, and the Warriors, ranked No. 4 by the Daily News, will need him to play at his best for Westlake to win today's Southern Section Div. I second-round match against Harvard-Westlake of Studio City. Greenberg has been strong for the Wolverines, ranked No. 1 by the Daily News.

Because of their depth, the Wolverines (20-2) have been able to shuffle players between singles and doubles spots, but Greenberg almost always earns three points for the No. 2 seed.

Today, 2 p.m. at Studio City Golf and Tennis Center.

The coaches for the Daily News All-Star softball game June 9th have been selected.

Donna Lee of Valencia and Suzanne Manlet of Simi Valley will be co-coaches of the West team, the second time the pair has coached in the game together but the first since 1993.

It was Borzello who called Lee upon reading El Camino Real had won 24 consecutive league titles and reminded her of Taft's title in 1993. That year, Taft finished 9-1 in league and El Camino Real 8-2.

After that, El Camino Real began a 10-year winning streak that continued this season.

The East coaches for the all-star game will be Coy Ray of Quartz Hill and Carolyn Gunny of Granada Hills.
