Michelle Chevalier is returning to high school basketball as the new girls' basketball coach at Chatsworth High.

Chevalier was one of the City Section's winningest coaches while at Sylmar High from 2000 to 2005 before leaving to work on a club team with her husband, Andre.

Chevalier replaces April Davenport, who is moving to Northern California Northern California, sometimes referred to as NorCal, is the northern portion of the U.S. state of California. The region contains the San Francisco Bay Area, the state capital, Sacramento; as well as the substantial natural beauty of the redwood forests, the northern .

Chatsworth is slated to return eight players from last season's City quarterfinalists.

Losing to Kennedy of Granada Hills in last month's City Section final didn't keep Chatsworth from being the area's highest ranked team in Baseball America's final national rankings of the season released Monday.

Chatsworth (31-3), one of only two California teams in the top 10, finished at No. 9, with league rival El Camino Real El Camino Real (Spanish for The Royal Road or The King's Highway) was the name of a series of pre-automobile highways linking the various New World colonies of Spain:

Recently graduated Notre Dame of Sherman Oaks girls' basketball standout C.J. Hill has accepted a scholarship offer from Azusa Pacific.

Hill, a 6-foot-2 guard, was a first-team All-Area selection. She led the Knights with 18.3points, 4.0 assists and 3.2steals.
