CHATTER: BURNLEY LANDS AT PIERCE COLLEGE.

In yet another new start in an ongoing football saga, Charles Burnley has joined the Pierce College In 2006 the Library won a national Excellence award. Academics
Pierce College offers associate's degrees, mainly in the arts and sciences. There are also certificate programs in early childhood education, social services, dental hygienist, and others.

Burnley was among California's top recruits as a running back at Valencia High in 2002. He rushed for more than 3,500yards in two high school seasons but also endured his share of problems, including a juvenile battery conviction, a midseason suspension, and academic issues.

 Division I academic requirements -- costing him a scholarship to Oregon State -- Burnley practiced briefly with College of the Canyons' team before deciding to concentrate only on academics, a successful plan that eventually led to Burnley meeting the proper requirements and arriving at Oregon State.

After one college season as a promising reserve, Burnley was primed to earn a starting job at OSU (Open Source UNIX) Refers to the Unix variants that are maintained as open source, which were primarily BSD Unix and Linux until Sun made its Solaris operating system open source in 2005.  before academic problems plagued him again, and he came back home.

Burnley, a talented rap artist with family connections in the record industry, is believed to be planning a music career.

--Chatsworth junior shortstop Mike Moustakas has been named City Player of the Year. He batted .427 with a school-record 14 home runs and 47 RBIs this season.

--One week after appearing in the Southern Section Div. I baseball final at Angel Stadium, Agoura's J.T. Wright, kicked a winning 20-yard field goal in the final seconds to lift the East to a 27-24 victory in the 33rd annual Ventura Country All-Star game Saturday at Ventura's Larrabee Stadium.

Wright also kicked a 35-yard field goal and scored on a 70-yard pass from Agoura teammate Dominick Huerta.

Camarillo's Sean Creadick, caught two touchdown passes, including a tying score with 38seconds remaining to help the West rally from a 24-0 deficit.

--Former Burroughs of Burbank basketball player Keith Jarbo has earned a post-graduate scholarship from the West Coast Conference. Jarbo graduated from Pepperdine this spring with a 3.74 GPA GPA
