CHATTER: ACOSTA LOOKS TO REBOUND AT REGIONAL MEET.For the majority of the runners across the state, the high school cross country season came to an end last week with the state championship meet. But a handful of local athletes are not done competing. Several of the area's top runners are slated to race in today's FootLocker West Regional meet at Mt. San Antonio College Mt. San Antonio College (commonly called Mt. SAC; pronounced as the word "sack") is a community college located in the Los Angeles suburb of Walnut, California, next to California State Polytechnic University, Pomona which is just over a hill. Mt. in Walnut. Among those competing is Highland of Palmdale's Jeremy Acosta and the Bulldogs' standout has something to prove. He didn't qualify for the state meet after becoming ill during the Southern Section finals. He suffered from dizziness and blurred vision during the Div. I qualifying race. "I have to prove that I can make it to nationals," said Acosta, who will run in the boys' seeded race. "Once I qualify I am shooting for top eight, then I'll see what I can do after that. I want to run somewhere between 15:30 to 15:40." The top 10 runners in the seeded races qualify to the Foot Locker Foot Locker, Inc.
